PM presents award to the winner of slogan contest for 2WIF
BANGKOK, 13 September 2016 (NNT) –The Prime Minister has presented an award to the winner of a slogan contest for the upcoming 2nd World Irrigation Forum. The presentation was made at Government House today. The winner is from Chiang Mai where the forum will take place this November.
Prime Minister General Prayat Chan-o-cha presented the award to Mrs.Supaporn Thongpook. Her winning slogan is “Smart Irrigation for Food Security:ZERO Hunger”. The winner received 20,000 baht and a trophy from the Prime Minister.
Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives General Chatchai Sarikulya, Permanent Secretary for Agriculture and Cooperatives Teerapat Prayoosit, and Director-General of the Irrigation Department Suthep Noipairoj also joined the award presentation ceremony, together with Director-General of the Government Public Relations Department Apinan Juntarungsri, in his capacity as a Chairman of the Public Relations Committee for the 2nd World Irrigation Forum.
Mrs.Supaporn Thongpook, the winner from Chiang Mai province said it was a great honor to be a part of this memorable activity that will be take place in Chiang Mai, from 6th to 12th November 2016.
In addition to the award presentation ceremony, the Royal Irrigation Department also organized an exhibition, on the concept “Thailand 4.0 toward Smart Irrigation for Food Security:Zero Hunger”, in order to publicize the upcoming 2nd World Irrigation Forum and the 67th International Executive Council Meeting, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
